A Writer's Life

By Awriterslife

Working guy

My neighborhood was built around 1880, to house the qualified workers in the big factories that were established along the river: boats, sugar, etc.
It was to be a very affluent "city", vibrant, active. But then came a recession, and the factories closed, and... well the neighborhood never actually live up to its potential. But still, you can feel the past. As with this mural, on the side of my favorite take-out place: not even a block away from my place, on my way from the bus stop, and very good!
