The Lawn

I'm loving the colour everywhere at the moment. The rain is pretty annoying but when it stops and the sun comes out, everything is sparkly and bright!
Our jungle garden has burst into life with swathes of dandelions a foot tall as far as the eye can see! Some might call it out of control - we prefer to call it a Wilderness Garden!
It's been a trying day today. I didn't go to sleep last night until 1am - bloody Stieg Larrson!! - so I woke up exhausted and had no energy to deal with the hyperactive and irritating spirited and creative Little Misses!
I had to chuckle when I looked at the clock this morning wondering when I could put Miss L down for her nap, only to discover it wasn't even 9am!!
After lunch we decided to go out for a bike ride. Of course by the time we'd got dressed - because naturally they were both naked - and cleaned our teeth - because we're that lazy, the skies had darkened and it was spotting with rain.
And as soon as we got down the lane the heavens opened and it chucked it down. I valiantly battled on for a bit and then admitted defeat and headed for home. It wasn't the rain so much as the fact that Miss L wanted to be carried and Miss E kept gettting stuck - her stabilisers need adjusting as they are a bit lower than the back wheel so on rough ground she's pedalling as hard as she can and the back wheel's just going round and round in the air!!
So we came home, soaked and grumpy, and of course the sun immediately came out and it was glorious. Gggggrrrrrr!!!!
And then we had to do it again after dinner because I promised.....
No sign of the pox yet in Miss L. Apparently it can take about 10-14 days for it to appear. Today is day 12. No doubt she'll leave it until late Saturday night and then, just as we think we might escape it, she'll errupt!!
