Melon Udrigle Beach

After the most perfect wedding, there was no honeymoon to a tropical paradise, we had our first night in a posh hotel in Inverness, then headed on a tour of Wester Ross, which is on the north west coast of Scotland Wester Ross has the most beautiful scenery in the world (if you get the weather to see it, that's the important bit!).

Well, we struck it lucky that week of our honeymoon. The sun shone from morning to night and we toured around the most amazing sights and stayed in some lovely bed and breakfast establishments. The last three days was spent in Laide, a little hamlet near Gruinard Bay, on the way to Ullapool in a converted Old Smiddy - it was gorgeous, and I am the fussiest person in Scotland.

Nearby, was Melon Udrigle beach where we would walk, quite desserted, sharing it only with the wildlife. It was overlooked by one of the most spectacular mountain ranges in Scotland - An Teallach (which is on the other side of this picture. A truly magical place.
