Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

A Meal Shared . . .

. . . "a meal shared with family and friends sustains you in more ways than one."

I think that Avery and Elliette would agree. They love to share everything. Where one is, the other is close by. So watching them eat from the same bowl really wasn't surprising, but on the other hand it was. Our three would never share a bowl. Meal time here is often accompanied with low growls and "stare-downs," usually by Mitzi who has become the "alpha" dog in the family. She eats as fast as possible and then loves to give "stink-eye" to the other two while they try to eat their food. Dull moments do not happen here.

Avery and Elliette had eaten all the food their mom had brought for them and we knew that feeding them something different (what our three eat) would not be good, so late afternoon we drove to the "feed and grain" store in Norco; they had the brand of dog food we needed, but not the specific type these two cuties eat. So we drove a couple miles further to the PetCo Store and sure nuff they had exactly what these two like.

We brought it back home and filled their little bowl. We were sitting outside enjoying the remains of the sunshine on the patio. So I put these two little ones on the other side of the temporary fencing that we use to keep K9s from the pool (the fence sort of works). Then we watched . . . their long skinny noses must help with the sharing of a bowl. It was sure cute to watch.

So Chloe, Mitzi, and Max, our three K9s, sat on our side of the fencing watching these two munch. Our three were fairly frustrated that they could not get to the other side to assist them in making that kibble disappear. It didn't take long and Avery and Elleitte had devoured the food. Then we gave each of ours a nibble of the new stuff. They loved it (of course, it wasn't their usual).

Avery & Elliette's mom & dad's plane is supposed to land somewhere around 9:00 p.m. so we'll see them, hopefully, sometime between 10:00 and 11:00. These two have been here since Wednesday evening. I'm sure they will be thrilled to see their parents. Then I think a degree of quiet will reside here (or maybe not).

Good night from Southern California.
