The Adventures of Pippin

By kmcameron

Scottish Water have turned off our water between the hours of 8am and 8pm. This is going to happen every day this week until Thursday. So, we decided to take Pippin down the cycle track today because it meant she would keep dry and not need a wash when she got home. The sun is even out and it isn't raining at all, so she wouldn't get wet in any way.

Or so we thought.

Just as we neared the end of the walk I turned round and noticed Pippin was in a ditch. And when she came out, she was up to her elbows/knees in thick black mud!

There's a stream running along the edge of the cycle track for quite some way, so I imagine that, because it was quite hot, she thought she would go in to cool off.

I don't think she was expecting to come out looking like that!

Most of the water is crystal clear, but she just chose a bad bit.

Then I had to walk all the way back through the village with her like that, with people pointing at her and laughing!

I wasn't quite sure how we were going to get her clean, what with there being no water, but fortunately my Dad had filled a bucket in preparation.

It went black as soon as she put her first foot in it, and there were still another three to do!

Talk about bad timing Pippin!
