Evening light

This is not a million miles away from where I took yesterday's photo. It rained a fair bit overnight; it's rare for everything to look so green! The golden evening light is gorgeous; on the right, it's shining on the bit of Alaric universally known as le jambon for what I hope are obvious reasons.

Geologists like Alaric, because you can see the four ages of the earth in its distinctive stripes of rock, exposed by a massive landslip millions of years ago. We like it because it's like a sleeping animal sheltering the village. Places on the other side get close to twice as much rainfall as we do.

Note: No plane trees were used in the making of this blip.
