South Kensington pedestrian tunnel

Well, this is a bit different for me: an urban photograph...

This is the tunnel that leads from South Kensington tube station to the exits along Exhibition Road. It provides access to the museums, Royal Albert Hall, and other institutions without having to tackle the roads or rain. I didn't initially like using it, but now find the light wells, exposed girders, and brickwork rather appealing, not to mention the acoustics...

There is a place where buskers base themselves (an eclectic bunch of buskers: sometimes a metal guitarist playing screaming solos to a backing track, sometimes a pan-piper, there is a man with a sitar, and today there was a chap on a keyboard playing Middle Eastern music) and 'though there aren't any I'm particularly fond of, I do enjoy the experience of hearing them before seeing them, and the way that the bizarre acoustics warp the sound.

I like the way that this particular part of the tunnel features so many curves: the light from the (new) cafe causes interesting lighting, and the adverts add to the colour and reflections.
