No cuckoo this morning.
Routine sort of day today, with work occupying most of it, so I thought I would give you a progress report on box2. The camera in this box is focussed ona point above their heads unfortunately so the picture isn't clear.
Two female sparrows are taking it in turns to incubate 3 eggs. No idea which one they belong to but apparently this behaviour is quite common. Haven't seen a male. Interesting differences between them and the tits (great and blue) that have previously occcupied the nest. Apart from there being a single female, the tits lay larger clutches (I would have thought the sparrows would have laid loads) - 2 or 3 times as big. Maybe the sparrows aren't as good parents so fewer eggs are laid, I don't know.
The camera in box 1 (blue tits) has decided to go off so I don't knowwhat is happening in there but suspect eggs are present as activity has significantly increased.
Working from home tomorrow. x
