Running for the bus

2years 195days

I went to pick Katie up from nursery today- went confidently into her room, then felt rather silly when I stood at the door and couldnt see my own child. Except it turned out she wasnt in there. She had her first afternoon in preschool!

She coped extremely well with it, they were impressed at how well she coped. They said she listened to and carried out instructions beyond their expectations of a child her age, and had done really well with everything they'd done. Apparently, she spent the whole time thoroughly excited to be there and grinning away. One of her staff is called Katie as well, which pleased her even more. The only problem is going to be that Katie now doesnt want to go to toddlers. "Not start in toddlers and go to preschool, Mummy. Only go to preschool" she told me on the way home.

We got the bus home today, which she was pleased about. The bike's got its first puncture and Mummy's run out of repair stuff. We stopped off to buy a little snack on the way back, before she asked to come "for a cuddle in the ice creams". We popped into the bike shop in town to investigate if they did mobile repairs. Whilst we were in there we looked at pashley bikes, which her granny really wants. Katie said "Granny likes the blue one. Think Grandad likes the pink one. I love my Grandad and Granny".

When we got back, she was further excited as she discovered that her new Monkey Monkey Meitai had arrived. No, thats not a a typo. Its a monkey meitai. For Monkey. In exactly the same design as the ice creams. Which didnt escape her notice - "Look Mummy, like our ice creams but little".

And yes, her wellies are on the wrong feet. She did them herself. And yes, Monkey has only one sock. The children at nursery lost the other.
