Perfect Harmony

In this version of Animal Farm all the animals are equal and in perfect harmony. This seems appropriate to the day when local council election results are announced. On the political front we never have perfect harmony. Presumably there is no such thing in the political world, even in totalitarian regimes. Nonetheless the perpetual conflict sometimes seems unnecessary and excessive. This picture therefore represents a utopian version of Animal Farm.

In the distant days of a week ago when I still had a job it was traditional to go for breakfast in the canteen on a Friday. A full Scottish breakfast was available as long as it did not exceed five items.

Today being my first unemployed Friday I went to Dobbies Garden World. Breakfast for two is available for the fairly reasonable amount of £5.95. As this allows for six items each it is actually cheaper than it was in the canteen.

Having enjoyed champagne breakfasts at the hotel in Scheveningen last week I might have been disappointed to find that breakfast as Dobbies does not include a similar treat. I expect the next champagne breakfast will not be until I next visit Holland.
