Forth Valley

Headed out to Deny on the bike this afternoon. Probably a better run as there is a few hills to negotiated rather than the fast flat runs between here and Grangemouth.

Also got a new book today, Un Paese by Paul Strand. Again a really good book but I was surprised at the amount of text describing the places and the peoples own words. Small snippets of their lives. One of the things that often troubles me about some photography is the way people are used to portray what the photographer is trying to put across. Strand's approach here (and in Uist in Tir a' Mhurain) really speaks to me about the level of respect Strand had for his subjexts and the areas he was working in. The people are alive not just strangers caught in some awkward moment that may not have any relevance to who they actually are.
