Lickety Splits

After finishing work today decided to go to Seaham harbour thinking it could be a nice look out and a decent place to get a blip. As we were driving along the main road looking for a place to park we noticed 'Lickety Splits' didn't have a massive queue half way down the street for once. We parked up and near enough headed straight for it.

I've known of Lickety Splits for quite a long time but never been. Its a 1950s American style ice cream parlour. Every time we go anywhere near the place, the queue is outside the shop and along the street(usually down past about 2 shops).

I'll be completely honest as this is after all my journal....It was overpriced and no different to any other ice cream. The service was slow, and the place itself was like a very small cafe with a few 1950s replica seats.

Such a shame because it could be amazing..... Just needs more room, some classier 1950's styling that goes with everything else. a dance floor with a couple of people dancing in 50's outfits. Waiters/waitresses taking orders at the table after you'd been seated. Louder juke box playing 1950s songs that people will recognise(it was 60 year ago so just some early rock and roll).........you'd then even forgive the ice cream being average because of the scenery/styling/service.

My advice - If ya ganna dee summit, dee it propa!
