Some Days

The Northern Gannet...

...Morus bassanus

We went on a little boat trip from North Berwick, East Lothian, to the Bass Rock in the Firth of Forth.

The weather was great and the light perfect for some gannet shooting, on the largest island colony of Northern gannets in the world!

However, I decided to use my totally useless Sigma 70-300mm zoomer.

This was by far the best shot of the lot; all the puffins, kittiwakes, guillemots, shags, cormorants, etc. etc. , will have to wait for a return voyage, and a better lens.

It was a fantastic trip, well worth twice the price, even for the boat ride and just being there in amongst these amazing birds!

I am going to try to do the blipfolio thing with some extras and also rans, but it may take some time for my first go!

Edit: Blipfolio up and running if you're interested
