Playing with flash

I was playing with my speedlight today, using it off camera and manually, so had lots of shots to choose from. It came down to this or Shaun the Sheep (chosen as being a challenge to expose correctly, given lots of black and white bits) with a scary monster shadow behind him from positioning the speedlight in front of and slightly below him, but went with this, flash high and to the left on 1/16 power, given the large aperture. This is Bongo. I don't know why he's called that, he's been around since I was tiny, and apart from a solid and much loved (= threadbare) head that is stuffed with straw, he is actually a hand puppet. With no models around, my old soft toys come in very handy!
