Supermoon 2012

At 11:34 p.m. Saturday night the moon was at the closest point to the Earth in its orbit (within 221,802 miles from us), making it look 14% bigger and 30% brighter than usual. That's what scientists call perigee, which scientists have nicknamed "supermoon."
