Benidicto and Vasco may not look like leading edge types, but in terms of agricultural innovation in this small remote corner of the globe, that's exactly what they are.
Today, after 50 years away, I was back to farming in the farm in Lusangazi.
We were planting a collection of seeds from ECHO in Florida, to record their suitability for this climate and hopefully save the seeds produced.
Seeds which are all open pollinated included four varieties of maize, three varieties of tomato, carrots, Yam bean, strawberry tree, cucumber, amaranth, kale, onion, with sunhemp and velvet bean to be tried out as green manure.
Exciting times!
Sorry about going AWOL for the past two weeks, only got back on a net connection to day. As the say here TIA
