Girl's Work

Like in most places in the developing world, women and girls have the task of getting water. Here in Zambia village, about 30km from Mzuzu, these girls have only to walk about 400 metres to get it and it's clean.

Harisen was out and about checking pumps and planning new ones; he writes

John,
Went to Mzgola today and took these pictures.

The pump in Zambia village is working perfectly.

The Mhones are still working on valley, they have so many cabbages and the maize is growing well. They are doing fine.

He refers to a families called Mahone; a village with about 10 families all related. We helped them build a dam about 3 years ago, which irrigates a large valley enabling them to have 3 crops annually.
