Red Bottle

I decided to take advantage today of the bright afternoon Texas sun. When we went to the Main Street Arts Festival in Fort Worth about a month ago, I stopped and talked to a photographer named Ken Orton who had a lot of pictures of glass bottles. I told him how I was terrible at shooting glass and asked him how he did it. He was so excited to talk with someone interested in his work and technique that he gave me a few tips.

He said shoot with the light behind the glass and expose for the darkest part of the frame. Here is his website if you want to see his work. It is pretty amazing.
