Naggar Temple Sunset

A block up from where we are staying is the school that has replaced the old, circular one. Next door is a new temple - obviously with old 'gods' installed - to the oldest religion of the village. This predates the Shiva Parvati Krsna temples around (I believe) and is dedicated to the more animalistic pre-cursors. Or perhaps it celebrates the local roots of the religions upon which the Mahabharata / Bhagavad Gita are based. Anyhow - ancient stuff, lovingly restored in carved wood around concrete beams. Old style, new materials. The blend that India typifies oh so well.
