Building Worker

We walked down from the land above - and came across a white elephant monstrosity. Major metal beams and weird concrete cells. Apparently a Maharastra funded art gallery that has been going for a year - and will either be a splendid addition to the valley, or a hideous eyesore. The men on site were on top, sitting on old concrete sacks and playing cards. The women below were plodding on, carrying the rubble and excavated earth in baskets on their heads. The work seemed unpressured - and many of the workers were sitting and chatting in the shade.. including this woman who was checking out the tourists on the road edge 35' above.
