Juxtaposition

Stand in just the right spot at Castle Gate in Lewes and you can see this tricolour in masonry - a juxtaposition of brickwork spanning hundreds of years from the keep of the Norman castle (begun in 1087) to the glazed black mathematical tiles (they just look like bricks) of the early 19th century Bartholomew House.
