Global Village

... for the last time this year...

Another shorter day at work, this time because the Production team decided to join in with Marketing for their Christmas lunch, so off we went to Carter's at 1pm with no intention of going back to work! Very nice.

I actually got home by 4:30 and as Gs student wasn't available for his lesson, we decided to go to Global Village! It's been going for a few weeks already this season. They seem to have changed it completely. Totally new layout and the floors in many pavilions have been paved. I was totally disorientated but when I finally found a map, realised we had been round the whole thing. My blip is the entrance of Gate 4 where the Mary Poppins style umbrellas needed to be captured.

There was a scratch card with the ticket which gave free access to Animal Land. We were intrigued so went in to check it out. It consisted of a display of mechanical animals that were triggered by people walking towards them - to make noises and move their heads and wag their tails. Well, the giraffe, zebra and tiger did. They had these really huge over-size ants which were really creepy!

We didn't go with anything specific in mind; just really to do a reccy, so a return trip in January is definitely on. And now, I really must get to bed as it has just gone past midnight.

Missing quite a few things about the old website... especially being able to choose the crop for the thumbnail...
