Aperture on Life

Band4Hope

The postman delivered an new Band4Hope.  I'm loving the new silver plated version which called for a photo in the morning frost.

I first blipped the Band4Hope project back in early 2012 when my niece Lucy and her partner Lachlan started it. Since then thousands of  copper bracelets have been travelling around the world.  The silver plated ones are new and just in time for Christmas.

Each band has a unique serial number that the buyer logs onto the Band4Hope website. There they also choose to which charity the proceeds of the sale go.  The idea is to wear a band for a while then pass it on to someone else. When it's received, the new owner should complete and act of kindness,  log the change of ownership and the bands whereabouts, wear it and donate it to someone else.  Passing from person to person, the bands journey throughout the globe can be traced and there are some that have done some serious mileage!

I take my hat off to the couple who have put so much into this venture and taken nothing in return for their hard work other than the glory of seeing their idea expand.

They aren't expensive and make wonderful gifts.
