Winter Sparkle

As today was the shortest day of the year, I decided that it needed a bit of light. This is by the bookcase at the bottom of the stairs, which is always a dark dingy area throughout the year. 
I will be sorry to see these particular decorations put away as they do add some well needed light. 
I managed to wrap a few gifts today but it still doesn't feel like Christmas. Maybe when I bring some holly indoors and start baking it will feel more 'real'. Not long now to get into the Christmas spirit! :))
