Gentoo Penguin

We reluctantly left the Neck on Saunders and headed south-east to Bleaker Island, on the other side of the islands, with a much flatter landscape. Towards the late afternoon we walked to Sandy Bay and watched the penguins coming in from the sea to return to their colonies. There was a steady succession of Gentoos and the more timid Magellanics coming ashore in a beautiful evening light, with the sun directly behind me.
