Christmas Children

Happy Christmas!

Carys woke at 06.30, very excited. We had to stall her for nearly an hour until Will stumbled through with his stocking! They were both very happy with the contents of their stockings.

After church N&P joined us as we went into the front room to a huge pile of presents. Carys and Will distributed the presents and then the opening began. It was done in two parts and the kids were very lucky despite getting a fair amount of clothing that strangely they needed as they were out growing the stuff they already have.

I am glad we got them theatre tickets because they surely didn't need anymore stuff. Carys was very happy with her Sylvannians and Will with his football and goal, but the hit present seems to have been the puppies from Father Christmas. Apparently in the letter she wrote at school, Carys asked for a puppy like Alfie in 'Alfie all alone' a Holly Webb book. Father Christmas must have seen the letter despite the fact it wasn't posted (and the puppy wasn't on the letter that was written and posted with me) and got her a toy puppy with a letter explaining why it wasn't real, and that Will also had a puppy like Huey in a book he had read in the summer, so that he didn't feel left out!

Dinner was lovely, then before we had time to blink we were watching the Strictly Christmas Special and it was time for bed. All over for another year.
