Learning day by day

Christmas Eve

We have had a busy few days, so it was nice to be waking up in our own beds this morning, although to be fair they both slept in which was a pleasant surprise.

As promised I made gingerbread for Will (and Carys) to decorate later in the day. We went swimming in a near empty pool, only ten people including ourselves. Funnily enough there was still someone we knew there. The kids also had the baby pool to themselves at one point. We had planned to have lunch at the pool but much to Will's disgruntle, they weren't doing hot food because it was Christmas eve.

Back home the elves had delivered the Christmas eve box, it contained new pj's for everyone and slippers for three of us, although Will's were too small despite being a size 10/11. The note suggested they had picnic tea of pizza and pop corn which they had found in the cupboards while we watched Miracle on 34th Street. So after decorating some gingerbread pj's were put on and the film was watched.

Carrot, baileys and gingerbread were put out for Santa and the reindeer. Magic dust sprinkled on the drive to guide the sleigh to our house. Stockings were hung, Will was in bed with lights out by 18.30 and Carys the same by 19.00. Not a peep out of either of them.
