The Old Home Place

Oh, to wake up with the day planned out only for unplanned things to unravel them. I must not complain about the unplanned things, I'm sure people have the best intentions at all time. Don't they? Suffice to say, it left me with insufficient daylight time to start the things I wanted to do. C'est la vie, eh.

The picture above shows about the only part of the byre that hasn't been rendered. Definitely needs some re-pointing and I suspect that's why so many stone houses have been rendered, as a quick and easy way to avoid a long and tedious job. Which is a pity although I'd probably have thought the same way.
