CannyScot's Day

Climbing the Wall

A bright day but still chilly.

In the morning, Eleanor and I visited fellow Blippers Joppa Strand and his wife Tiggy, who live in Portobello on the outskirts of Edinburgh. We had coffee and a wonderful time of sharing experiences - so much so that the time flew by and it was time to leave. This is one of the joys of the Blip Community - meeting up with people who share the same interests and whom you feel you have got to know well through Blip.

Afterwards, we met up with my daughter and our 17 year old Grandson at the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, which is the largest indoor climbing arena in Europe. It has been built into an old quarry and is very impressive. Our Grandson had received vouchers for climbing sessions and he wanted to see whether he would be able to book a time for assessment with an Instructor and to see how much equipment would cost to buy. I took a few photos of people climbing, like the one shown here, and decided definitely them rather than me. My grandson has had a few climbing experiences with the Scouts so I am sure he will thoroughly enjoy his Christmas present.

After Lunch together we returned home to Dundee, having had a wonderful Christmas time.
