Wittering on

Today Wife took the day off and I took the morning off as we had some educational appointments. First up we had a meeting with Girl's nursery key worker to give us our regular update on how she is getting on and look at her acheivement book. This meeting was only half an hour after we had to drop off the little ones so we were told we could stay and play until our appointment.

It wasn't long until I had developed quite a strong skittles team with some of Girl's friends though they were doing more bowling and I was doing more picking up. Even so I can see why she enjoys nursery so much as I was a bit disappointed when I had to stop playing to have our meeting. The meeting was really good and it wa really nice to look through her folder which contained milestones, stories and quotes that were great to read. As usual we talked too longand so we had to ruch to our next meeting at Girl's new and upcoming school.

It was a meeting for all parents to fill in forms, get informed and ask any questions. Sadly we have found out that one of Girl's oldest and closest friends will start slightly later than her as he is slightly younger and so has to be integrated at a different rate, even though he is one of the most advance little ones I have ever met. At least they will be going to the same school though which is the main thing.

As Wife was off it meant that Daddy Day became Family Day so we chanced a car journey and headed to West Wittering. The sun was out with a strong breeze and it was lovely. We used to go to the Witterings quite often but have not been there since just before Girl started nursery when the wind upset her greatly.

We had forgotten just how beautiful the place is. It is teh best beach I have ever been to in the U.K. with its dunes and long shallows and pools. Girl loved it today and as soon as we were there she was running all over the place, investigating. It was really great to watch her race around with confidence, dig holes, draw in the sand and make up games both on her own and with all of us.

We got the kites out and had a fly which Boy loved and was very good at before headed back to the car. The final strole back to the car was tough for them both as tiredness from all the running around set in. Boy demanded a lot of carrying from me to get back to our parking space which again took its toll on my injured arm.

Today was one of those family days you remember, a good day!
