Ancient and Modern

When W was at University she bought this Latin dictionary for a fiver from another student.  It saw her through Uni even though it was falling to pieces and had lots of loose and missing pages.  She thinks it must be over 100 years old judging by the condition, but can't be sure as the first 150-odd pages are missing, including the title page where the publication date would have been.

Since she retired decided to pursue other interests she has taken up studying again but this time just for enjoyment, but in view of its condition and the trail of paper dust she was leaving behind Santa Claus thought it was about time she replaced her dictionary.  We could be having a ceremonial burning of the old one soon!
