Summer Ice Creams.....

They both like Goody Goody Gum Drops, he likes Caramel Fudge and she likes Boysenberry Ripple - a true sign summer has arrived.

In 1936 two friends, Len and Albert, opened an ice cream parlour in Manners St, Wellington, making their own ice cream. Little did they know that their humble venture would grow to become a national icon loved by generations of New Zealanders.

Tip Top took home five golds and eight silvers at the New Zealand Ice Cream awards held this year, with the stand out win of the night being a gold for Tip Top's Boysenberry Ripple which won the for the fifth year running. Tip Top ice creams contain natural colours and flavours, use locally sourced ingredients and have no palm oil.

Tip Top has produced iconic products like Fruju, Jelly Tip, Choc Bar, Trumpet, Memphis Meltdown, Popsicle and not to mention that quintessential ice cream flavour, Hokey Pokey.

My favourite is Boysenberry Ripple with Hokey Pokey a very close second.

Hot summer days and melting ice creams certainly go hand in hand - Happy Monday everyone :)

PS: A little late and now a backblip is yesterday's summer bouquet
