S(n)o(w) Slow

Commute to Munich in the morning was OK but it snowed all day long and the evening return train journey took 2.5 hours instead of 1.5 hours.

Then had to free the car from snow. Luckily had covered the windscreen.

The photos taken at Sontheim train station where I and 3 other people get on/off! My train from Munich is on the left, the Munich bound train on the right. To get to the far platform you simply walk over the tracks. Luckily as the line is single track there is only a small chance of getting pushed aside. We also have the oldest rolling stock in all Germany. They say they are going to electrify the line in the next millenium because the Swiss are desperate to have a half decent Zurich - Munich connection and have even put up a very large amount of the cost on the German side. Won't help much as it will still be single track as far as Buchloe.

Wed 31/12 17:00 Update - Today a 25 year old girl was hit by a train at a station near here - standing too close to the edge while phoning and "sucked" in. Leg almost completly severed but not in a critical state.
However then read a 40 year old lady was killed Monday - having forgotten her bag she turned back and crossed the track as an Inter City passed!
