New Year

We had a lovely tea and Eileen's (SIL's Mother), played very raucous bingo and then we all met up at the Church to ring in the new year, it was lovely to have such a crowd of family and friends (and Ted).  Sadly there were only 4 ringers amongst the assembled but we tolled midnight and had some jolly ringing for 5 minutes or so afterwards, didn't want to upset the neighbours too much!

A small incident occurred just before midnight when one of the gratings that covers the long defunct heating pipes gave way and Matthew ended up in the hole!  It is probably a good job it gave way on him rather that one of the more elderly parishioners who attend the church!  Got to fess up to the Churchwarden and Vicar this morning, but Matt thinks he can make a repair so hopefully they won't be too cross!
