Splash and Dash

We went to Cromarty to watch the Splash and Dash. Lots of crazy people, most in Fancy Dress taking a quick dip in the Cromarty Firth. The weather could have been better, raining and a draughty cold wind but it did nt put off the competitors. Some were dressed as minions, jellyfish and Dennis the Menace. You can see people from the Avoch rowing club in their cleverly designed boat. The RNLI were on hand incase of an emergency.
It does nt end there as some then took part in a  6km run up the 100 steps to the top of the South Sutor and back round to the harbour. There's a shorter 3 km route too, a flatter run but I should think both were quite muddy and there was a good turn out including two of my young Leaders from Brownies.
We saw the first few runners coming back and then went home for Soup and fresh bread and some warming mulled wine.
Going to watch the Wizard of Oz again, wishing I had a pair of sparkly red shoes or dog like Dorothy !

My Dad says thank you for all the good wishes, he's feeling better today, well better than yesterday anyway :)
