St Andrew's Day Trip

Today we went on a day trip to St. Andrew's - the home of golf. I'm not a golfing person myself but I still wanted to see the wonder and beauty of this town.

The town itself has four main streets so you can't really get lost. There are lots of small quaint shops, an amazing ice creamery that you have to go to (Jannette's) and a very good fish and chip shop.

You can easily walk from the town centre to the golf course in less than 10min which is quite handy when you want to go watch the sunset over the green after some shopping.

There's also the Castle and Cathedral - the castle you have to pay for but you can see most of it from the outside. The cathedral is free however so you are able to have a walk around for as long as you would like. Both are truly spectacular and although they are ruins, you should definitely go see them.

After having a walk around the town, having a peak at where Prince William and Kate lived, walking around the Old Course and doing a spot of shopping we headed back to Edinburgh. The drive was only 2.5hrs but there are other options for travelling to St. Andrew's - train and bus.
