Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

I spent a wonderful afternoon watching the sun go down over the mountains on the Isle of Arran.

This evening we went to see "The Theory of Everything", the remarkable film about Stephen Hawking and based on Jane Hawking's memoir, "Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen".

Just in physical terms, Eddie Redmayne's transformation into Stephen Hawking is nothing less than remarkable.

This is an amazing film about Stephen Hawking's early life and how Jane Hawking (played brilliantly by Felicity Jones) stuck through all the struggles and hardships of Stephen's terrible Motor Neuron disease.

Superbly acted, tenderly written and wonderfully directed, The Theory Of Everything is a compelling portrait of Britain’s most famous living scientist. Director James Marsh’s film is not just an admiration for Hawking’s academic achievements, but a moving account of two people who, despite everything the universe throws at them, remain close friends throughout. A fantastic film, which made me laugh and cry.
