Pesky little varmints!

They're still at it! Pesky moles pushing up molehills in our lawn, that is. On 5th December, when the annoying black mounds first appeared, I blipped our lawn with just a few molehills in it. These appeared after the first sign of trouble, which was when our bird station unexpectedly fell over, felled by burrowing underneath.

Since then we have tried various methods to eradicate the problem, including raking the hillocks flat and stamping on the ground around them, putting wind-sticks into the tops of the molehills to drive the moles away with vibrations in their tunnels, and other old country methods that supposedly succeed in deporting the pesky varmints. Nothing has worked.

The only consolation is that the hillocks are now gradually moving towards the fence, heading for the nature reserve on the other side, so hopefully they will soon cease to be our problem.

Yes, I have had a bit of fun playing with this image. Just like the moles have been doing to our lawn.
