Poppies....

Driving past Rishworth School In the Calder Valley I spotted these poppies. They reminded me of the ceramic poppies at the Tower of London. These were put here to commemorate the men who died in World War 1 in the small community of Rishworth. There were hundreds and the poppies represented a depressingly large percentage of the total population of the village in those days. Each one had the name of one of the men who had died on it. It was a sobering sight.
