Life through the lens...

Golden Acre Park

Our first walk of the year started at Golden Acre Park, Leeds.
When we set off, at 10.30 am,  there was still frost everywhere, but as you can see where it was touched with the golden sun, it was melting fast.
I was glad I took this shot at the start of the walk, as by the time we got back the frost had all gone.
It was blue sky and sun all day.
The down side was that  by lunch time the ground frost had melted, and soon we were walking in deep mud! A few miles of it!
My boots felt like lead weights on my feet. I don't think they could carry any more mud.. Made walking VERY difficult
After 7 miles we did make it back to the car without falling!
We passed the Emmerdale Farm village, in the grounds of Harewood, on the way round, and also saw lots of red kites, soaring up in the blue sky. A beautiful sight.
We finished up at our President's house for mulled wine and refreshments afterwards.
We had certainly earned it!!
