The Eve of Three Kings

This afternoon we met friends in Mario's Bar, a glass of rioja to hand, to watch the Three Kings procession round the Port, making it's way to La Plaza where there is a marquee set up and presents are given to the children.

The Spanish celebrate Three Kings more than our Christmas, although it is becoming more popular.   The children usually get small presents on Christmas Day and then their big ones on 6th January, the day the Three Kings visited the stable.

The 'Kings' throw boiled sweets for the children to collect and from the photo you can see them picking them up.   This is a scene which will be played out in all Spanish towns and cities.

Tomorrow is a Public Holiday, so more celebrations!
