Taking the edge off

Back to work today after the holidays... 

but to take the edge off the shock of the early mornings and dealing with awkward delightful colleagues and visitors , my lovely mate Jo had made me a cake... 

This is one of my absolute favourites... which is a surprise because normally I like things smothered in chocolate.  However this is ginger and cardamon loaf,  and tastes amazing...

needless to say the new year diet is temporarily postponed... although this has raisins... so it could be one of my five a day?
