Sparrow having dust bath.

I had a day out of the office / house today!. Went with PJ this morning over to Te Mahia to join up with Ambling Camera . Started off with a coffee at Te Mahia, then headed off to the Portage marina. There were a few Oyster catchers there, but they flew off when a jet-ski came in and tied up!! Then I had thought we could go down on the beach where the Portage Canal is (that is a cutting that was made through a very narrow piece of land in the early 1900's so people could row their dinghys through it) But the tide was very high and no beach left.
Next stop, the Department of Conservation campsite at Kenepuru Heads, which has been upgraded during 2014. Saw a Tui, Bellbird, some Terns and Seagulls, but nothing really close or sitting in good light. We both got pictures of a very tame Weka, that came out of the bushes.
Finally, back to Te Mahia (and more coffee) to wait for PJ to pick me up. This little sparrow was having a great time, giving itself a dust bath.
