The Cam in Spate

Today I had one appointment early in the morning at Addenbrookes hospital, followed by another late in the afternoon.  Because of this, after we had finished our morning appointment, we went into Cambridge to do a little shopping, have lunch ad say hello to a few friends.

After lunching at the University Centre, we walked across the road in front of it and I took this picture of water flowing over one of the weirs just upstream of the road bridge and mathematical bridge behind it (these are behind me when taking this picture).  Most of the water in the Cam is flowing over a sluice gate on the right-hand embankment of the river, possibly visible in the background of my picture.  The rest is flowing very rapidly over this and the two adjacent weirs.

After this we revisited Addenbrookes; everything went well at both visits.
