Poultry in motion

It's probably a good job I didn't make any New Year resolutions as they would probably all be broken by now. I've had no enthusiasm for photography - mostly because I've felt really quite poorly, but also I've been saddened by the loss of a number of long-time blippers and intimations of censorship on the site which has lessened my desire to blip.

It's been a funny few days since my birthday. Pete and I attended his aunt's funeral on Tuesday, which necessitated a shopping trip on Monday to buy some suitably smart and sombre clothes. The funeral was very well done, and I enjoyed meeting many of Pete's family at the reception afterwards. However, all the socialising rather wiped me out, and yesterday I found it difficult to progress anything.

On Tuesday we also found out that Alex has an interview for a conservation traineeship on Friday, so that was the high point of the week, and was celebrated with a Thai take-away (mostly because Pete and I couldn't face cooking after the funeral).

Today the sun shone this afternoon, and I felt motivated enough to take the camera as far as the Rowing Lake. I have a hacking cough, and didn't walk very far, but enjoyed watching the Canada geese. They were disturbed from their grazing three times by out of control dogs - this black and white terrier nearly leaped into the water after them, but finally thought better of it!
