Need a bigger wick

After yesterday's disappointing attempt to do a night time time lapse sequence, I thought today I'd attempt another time-lapse but using a candle and the holder I blipped recently. I envisaged wax flowing down the sides of the candle with convoluted patterns rather like you seen in lava from volcanoes.
Once again I failed to realise what I visualised. The candle was well made with the right wick size to match the wax, so very little wax dripped down the side and I have a sequence that looks like someone is pulling the candle down into the holder.
I have a friend who makes candles so I'll have to ask him to make one that will ooze molten wax as it burns. Back to the drawing board!
