This head usually sits on a bookshelf at home. I went up to Evie and took the opportunity of a lift from the RSPB's Alan up to the hide on Burgar Hill. I watched, and listened to, the red-throated divers there and then walked to the seashore where I placed the head in the sand by, I think, sea-milkwort (Glaux maritima).

There were twenty or so common seals on the sands, but nothing unexpected birdwise...a great northern diver, arctic terns etc.
Couple more shots here.
