Surveying the damage

Here's Hamish having a look at what damage was done in the storm overnight, you can see the grass and dirt where it was blown hard  against the window. The power went off at 11:30pm last night and stayed off all day today. Between 1am and 2am the wind reached 113 mph. I was lying in bed convinced the roof was going to come off - it was scary, so loud and fierce - in fact the whole house was creaking and shaking! But in the end we only lost a handful of tiles off the roof; a part of the fence round the house is badly damaged and the bins have blown off somewhere, but that is the worst of it for us. Very lucky really.
