a wild night

The way this trip was planned we had two days (one going and one on the return journey) in Italy so taking advantage of this we headed for the south of Italy. The first destination was the region of Puglia where the villages still speak a dialect of Greek. How lucky we were then to come across a festival ;-) ! Five bands played to a huge and very enthusiastic crowd. The music was derived from the traditional sounds of tarantella, which as the tradition says was used in the old days to cure the bite of the tarantula spider. I absolutely love this music, some time ago. I had gone to a similar festival in Athens. Fantastic night that lasted quite long.
