Bacon

Sunday treat: a friend presented us with his home-cured bacon; black pepper, thyme and apple. Delicious! Quick to crisp and none of that white mush you get with the factory stuff.

In other adventures we had a little gathering on the beach, as with the combination of a particularly low tide at 3pm and the storm pulling the sand away, we hoped more of the old boat that is there would be revealed. The ribs showed up five years ago and as there are no records of a boat being sunk there we think it could be very old indeed. We know the Vikings were here.....but perhaps that's too much to hope for!
